ComPsych’s training programs about mental health tackle the stigma which too often prevents people from getting help. We do this through powerful case studies and practice exercises to show that we can all provide meaningful support when someone is struggling. The goal – and it’s an aspirational one – is that everyone in workplaces, families, and communities around the world feels comfortable seeking support for their own mental health, and comfortable providing empathetic support to a colleague, family member, or friend in need.

As effective and wide-reaching as our training programs are, we know that they alone are not enough. Reaching the aspirational goal described above requires more than one company or set of training programs. It requires collective, broad-reaching efforts that reach as deep and wide as possible.

That’s why we are so grateful for World Mental Health Awareness Day! Launched in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) and recognized annually on October 10, the goals for this day are to provide education about mental health, raise awareness, and advocate against social stigma around the world. Our numbers show how effective this has been, especially over the last few years. ComPsych saw an incredible 156% percent increase in the volume of trainings hosted for World Mental Health Day from 2022 to 2024, with nearly half of all 2024 trainings hosted for an audience outside of the United States. On October 10, 2024, we broke the record for the greatest number of ComPsych training programs ever held on a single day.

We are proud of the many training programs we do all year to combat mental health stigma, and thankful that World Mental Health Awareness Day brings even more attention to those programs every October 10.
